Week 10 and 11
My favourite thing in the training was probably Pinterest. I was able to find a scavenger hunt list for my 10 year old daughter to use at Easter this year. It made it that much more exciting!
There are so many options to do so much on the internet. This is what surprised me the most.
I will keep these tools in mind if I am asked to advertise library programs in new ways and can help my children find eBooks and ideas for fun activities.
I felt a great sense of accomplishment when I completed the 23NB program. It took me out of my comfort zone for sure, which is always good. There is so much out there to explore and it's exciting and fun to consider what to do next! Thank you to the team for this experience!

Week 9 - I enjoyed how easy it was to view the books in various categories in Overdrive. I borrowed both a self-help book and a cookbook and decided a book that you would want to read from cover to cover is easier to ready on a screen than a cookbook. I downloaded an app called iBooks and quite like the layout of it. However, I still prefer to get my books free of charge from the Overdrive.

Week 7 - I listened to a debate hosted by Jian Ghomeshi on cbc.ca on the evolution of libraries and if they should become community and social hubs. Both sides make excellent points. I think it is a good idea as long as it is done carefully and the main goal of libraries is never forgotten and always kept in the forefront.
